Pierre was born in either Memramcook, New Brunswick or Minudie, Cumberland County, Nova Scotia (they’re not far apart), the eighth child of Jean-Baptiste Gallant and Anne Doiron. As of 2023, familysearch.org has his date of birth as 15 Jun 1777.
Esther Brun (or LeBrun) was the daughter of Michel Brun and Marguerite Comeau.
Pierre and Esther married about 1798 in Minudie. Their first child I know of, Fidele, was born on Prince Edward Island, and the others in Memramcook. Esther died about 1810.
On 19 Sep 1815 in Richibuctou, Kent County, New Brunswick, Pierre married Marie Caissie (~1786-5 Feb 1830), daughter of Arsenault ancestors Pierre Caissie & Rosalie Léger. They had three children of record, the first born in Tignish, Prince Edward Island and the other two in Richibuctou:
Laurent (13 Jun 1816-????)
Nicolas (6 Dec 1818-????)
Marguerite (15 Jan 1824-????)
Marie died in 1830. On 26 Nov 1832 in Richibouctou-Village, Pierre married a third time, to Marguerite Clermont dite Le Marquis (~1803-26 Dec 1883). Their children included:
Appoline (5 Jun 1836-????)
Nathalie (25 Oct 1840-17 Sep 1841)
Pierre reportedly died in Richibouctou-Village or Grande-Digue, Kent in 1841. Marguerite carried on until 1883.
Fidele married Helene Finnigan (~1812-????), daughter of John William Finnigan and Marie Brun and sister-in-law to his brother Joseph, in 1831 in Barachois, Westmorland County, New Brunswick. Known children:
Angélique (1833-????)
Appoline (4 Feb 1834-????)
Anathalie (1835-????)
Madeleine (1836-????) — m. Laurent Gray on 1 Nov 1856
Marie-Anne (23 Apr 1837-????) — m. Dominick Fournier on 18 Aug 1856
Simon (8 Apr 1841-????)
Esther (~1843-????)
Thaddée (29 Mar 1845-????)
Patrick (~1848-????)
Helene (~1849-????) — m. Frederic Daigle on 21 Apr 1873
Marguerite (24 Nov 1852-????)
William (~1855-????)
George (3 Jun ?1857?-19xx) — m. Sarah Celina Legere on 9 Jan 1888
The 1861 census showed Fidelle Gallant (59) and wife Helen (48) in Richibucto with children Esther (18), Patrick (13), Helen (12), Margaret (9), William (6), and George (4). Their son George was born in Kingston, New Brunswick.
Fidele died in the 1860s. The 1871 census for Richibucto listed widow Ellen Gallant (58) with children Esther (28), Ellen (22), Margaret (18), William (16), and George (14), plus a boy named James Cormier (7).
Joseph has his own entry in the family tree.
Modeste married the much older Jean Caissie (1770-5 Apr 1830), son of Jean-Baptiste Caissie and Felicite Hache, on 16 Jan 1827 in St. Charles, New Brunswick. She was his third wife. They had two children:
Marie (~1827-????)
Urbain (~1829-????)
Jean died in Richibouctou-Village, Kent County, New Brunswick in 1830. Don’t know what became of the family after that.
