Pierre was born in Beaubassin, Nova Scotia, the son of Joseph Caissie (1709-1795) and Marie Josephette Lapierre (1708-1798), also of Beaubassin. The family named reportedly traces to an Irishman named Roger Casey born about 1648.

Rosalie was the daughter of Pierre-Jacques Léger (1726-1814) and Marie Madeleine Haché dit Gallant (1741-1818) of Albert, New Brunswick.

Pierre and Rosalie married about 1777, location undetermined. Their children were born in Richibucto.

Rosalie died in 1803 in New Brunswick. Pierre followed in 1812, dying in Rivière-Verte Village, Madawaska, New Brunswick.
