Peter was born probably in New London, Connecticut. He was the son of Peter Wickwire, Sr. (12 Mar 1695-10 Jul 1744) and Patience Chapel (1699-1750), and the grandson of John Wickwire (May 1656-Mar 1712), an English immigrant who settled in 17th century Montville, New London, Connecticut. John Wickwire married Connecticut native Mary Tonge (17 Sep 1656-6 Apr 1728), a daughter of George and Margery Tonge, on 6 Nov 1676. He was one of the men who in 1696 received a grant of land in Voluntown, Connecticut, and in 1704 received a grant in New London.
Rhoda’s parents are not named. She was one of the Schofield family of Connecticut, some members of which later settled in Nova Scotia.
Peter and Rhoda married in Connecticut in 1746, and their first four children were born in New London.
Peter led a company in the French & Indian War, and held the rank of captain. In 1760, he received a land grant in Cornwallis Township, Nova Scotia, part of the British plan to replace the French Acadians with loyal British subjects. His fifth child, Elizabeth, was born aboard a ship anchored in the harbor at Horton, King’s County, Nova Scotia.
The family settled in Horton. Rhoda died in 1802, and Peter the following year. They’re buried in Jawbone Corner Cemetery, Canard, Kings County, Nova Scotia.
A cousin of Peter’s, one Zebediah Wickwire (1730-????), also settled in Horton.

Rachel’s first husband was a Mr. Markorey, about whom no details survive. In 1780 she married William Carlisle.
Peter was a schoolteacher, and never married. He raised the daughter of one his sisters after that sister’s early death. He died in 1821 in Hopewell, New Brunswick, and is buried in Shepody Cemetery there.
Asa died in 1795, and is buried in Jawbone Corner Cemetery, Canard, Kings County, Nova Scotia.
Amy in 1776 married Olvier Fox, son of James and Grace Fox of Cornwallis Township, Nova Scotia. They had six children.

Rhoda married Henry Milton (13 Nov 1760-1818) from Albany, New York in 1781, or 1785, depending on which account you believe. Henry was a British soldier in the Revolutionary War, and received a land grant in a part of Nova Scotia that later became part of New Brunswick. Known children:

The family resided in Hillsborough, New Brunswick. Rhoda died in 1808, and Henry in 1818. They’re buried in Gray’s Island Cemetery, Hillsborough. Rhoda’s findagrave.com page claims there were four more children whose names are not known.
