Daniel was born in Lyme, Connecticut, the son of Daniel Huntley, Sr. (1721-1810) and Susannah Beckwith (1721-1799).

Elizabeth was born aboard a ship anchored at Hortonville, Kings County, Nova Scotia, one of 10 children of Captain Peter Wickwire (11 Mar 1724-2 Feb 1803) and Rhoda Scofield (1740-1802). The older children were born in Lyme or New London, before the family came to Nova Scotia. Peter Wickwire led a company in the French & Indian War, and was a 1760 grantee of the town of Cornwallis, Nova Scotia.

Daniel’s first wife, whom he married in 1772, was Sarah Ellis of Lebanon, Connecticut. They had 3 or 4 children. Sarah died in 1779.

Daniel and Elizabeth married on 8 or 9 Aug 1780 in Cornwallis Township, Kings County, Nova Scotia.

Daniel died in 1803 in Hortonville, Nova Scotia and is buried in Lower Horton Cemetery, although I don’t know whether the stone is findable. Elizabeth reportedly died in 1813, but another account has her still living in 1816. She is apparently buried with Daniel.

The family are mentioned in The History of Kings County, Nova Scotia, Heart of the Acadian Land by Arthur Wentworth Hamilton Eaton (Salem Press, 1910).
