Joseph JOHNSON (~1804-????) +
Sarah DRIPS (~1804-????)

two others (182x-????)

William Francis, Sr. (26 Aug 1830-11 Jan 1897) — m. Margaret Davis about 1855

Eliza (14 Jun 1832-????)

Joseph Johnson was born in the first decade of the century, was probably Irish, attended the Church of England, was a farmer, and between 1830 and 1832 was living in Ascot Corner, Quebec. That’s about it for the data.

Sarah was of similar age. Her surname in the baptism records for two of her children appears to be “Drips”, which is unusual but who’s to say.

Both of their named children were baptized CoE in Lennoxville, Quebec, just south of the modern city of Sherbrooke. The 1831 census for Quebec listed Joseph Johnson, farmer, and wife, both in their twenties, with three children under 5. They were living in Ascott, Sherbrooke, Quebec, which apparently means the town of Ascot Corner, a few miles east of Sherbrooke.

No trace of Joseph and Sarah has been found after the 1834 baptism of their daughter Eliza.
