David was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, the third of nine children to Mark Wismer (1737-1831), a weaver, and Elizabeth Lott (1740-1787). An 1893 book called Brief History of Jacob Wismer by Abraham James Fretz says that Mark is buried at Deep Run in Bucks County. David’s siblings were Henry (2 Feb 1766-17 Sep 1844; m. Susanna ???; m. Kate Crout), Susan (1768-????), Mark (12 Feb 1775-16 Feb 1858; m. Mary Elizabeth Nunnamaker), Catharine (1778-????; m. Joseph Black), Daniel (2 Sep 1780-1854; m. ???; m. Ruth ???; m. Elizabeth Lott), Barbara (1783-????), Elizabeth (1783-????), and Anna (1789-1842). Dates are tentative.

Lydia was born in Goshen, Orange County, New York. Her parents were Ephraim Everett (12 Dec 1742-1 Dec 1834) from Wallkill, Orange County and Beulah Moore (2 Oct 1741-30 Jul 1807) from Middletown, Orange County, who married in 1768 in Walkill.

David and Lydia married in 1793 in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The obvious assumption is that Lydia’s family must have moved there, but census records show her parents remained in Orange County, New York.

In 1806, the Wismers headed west (and somewhat north), journeying to Markham Township, Ontario. They purchased a tract of 500 acres and settled there.

Lydia died at the beginning of 1856 in Markham. David died that summer. They’re buried in Quantztown Cemetery, Markham.
