Louis was born in Menoudie, Nova Scotia, a son of Pierre dit Peter Doiron dit Gould and Anne Forest, who married on 22 Nov 1733 in Beaubassin, Acadie, and settled at Napan-Maccan in Nova Scotia (Nouvelle-Ecosse), just south of the modern town of Amherst. This makes him a brother to Angelique Doiron dit Gould (see next generation up). He served briefly in a small militia company formed in Nova Scotia in 1776.
Marie was a daughter of Jacques Bonnevie dit Beaumont and his third wife Anne Melanson. Her parents were exiled to South Carolina by the British during the French and Indian War.
Louis and Marie married on 9 Jul 1777 in Franklin Manor, Cumberland County, Nova Scotia. They had eleven children.
They lived at Memramcook, New Brunswick, just west of Nova Scotia. Louis later moved to Tracadie, New Brunswick, where he died in 1809.
After her husband's death, Marie lived with her family at Tracadie, New Brunswick. In her later years she lived with her daughter Euphrosine at Memramcook, where she died in 1836.
