Marie (1767-28 Jun 1816) — m. Bonaventure Martin in 1782

Hélène (~1771-11 Oct 1817) — m. Pierre Doucet

Agnès or Agathe “dit Petite” (~1771-????) — m. Charles-Michel Martin in 1790

Joseph (1776-by 1841) — m. Séraphine “dit Vieille Fine” Doucet; m. Édesse Martin

Louise-Sophie (~1786-18??) — m. Firmin Gallant about 1810 or on 15 Jan 1828

Anne (~1787-29 Sep 1871) — m. Maxime Gallant about 1807

Pierre (1787-????) — m. Marguerite Doucet in 1805

Jean was born in Malpeque, Prince Edward Island. His parents were François Blanchard (1686-????) from France and Marie-Marguerite Carret dit Carré (1705-by 1752) from Beaubassin, Acadie (Nova Scotia).

Marie-Rose was born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Her parents were François-Joseph Haché (1707-????) and Anne Boudreau (30 Sep 1719-????).

Jean and Marie-Rose reportedly married about 1768, although two daughters apparently born before this date suggest otherwise. The marriage probably took place in Louisiana after the enforced exile of the Acadians. Most if not all of the children were later married in Rustico, Prince Edward Island.

Marie-Rose died in 1817. Jean died in 1800, unless a separate account claiming he died in 1821 is correct. The Jean-Baptiste Blanchard (1743-1822) buried near Montreal was someone else.

Children

Marie Madeleine Blanchard (1766-by 1815)

Madeleine married Amand Gallant (1769-????) in 1795, a late marriage for her by the standards of the place and time. Known children:

Françoise (~1796-????) — m. Athanase Pineault on 18 Aug 1812

Charlotte (1797-????) — m. Simeon Gallant in 1820

Marie (11 May 1813-????)

The children were all married in Rustico, Prince Edward Island. Madeleine died in or before 1815. On 15 Jul 1815, Amand married Marie Cécile Martin, with whom he had at least four more children.

Marie Blanchard (1767-1816)

Marie married Bonaventure Martin (~1760-28 Mar 1824) supposedly in 1782, an early marriage for her even by the standards of the place and time. Known children:

Sophie (1794-????) — m. Sylvestre Gallant in 1813

Josué (1798-????) — m. Charlotte Gallant in 1823

Agathe (~1803-21 Oct 1845) — m. Pierre Gallant in 1823

Marie died in Rustico in 1816. Bonaventure died almost six years later.

Hélène Blanchard (1771-1817)

Hélène married Pierre Doucet (22 Sep 1777-????) from France, date undetermined. She died in 1817 in Rustico. No further information.

Agnès/Agathe Blanchard (1771-????)

Agnès, also called “dit Petite”, married Charles-Michel Martin in 1785 or 1790 in Rustico. Charles-Michel was variously reported as having been born about 1771 or on 28 Sep 1733, which is quite a range. Probably it was the latter, as he appears to have had children from an earlier marriage. Known children with Agathe:

Cécile Marie (~1791-1 Feb 1826) — m. Amand “dit Petit” Gallant about 1817

Germain (1800-15/18 Nov 1873) — m. Judith Gallant about 1820

Unknown when Séraphine died, but Joseph later married Édesse Martin. He died before February 1841.

Angélique Blanchard (1780-18??)

Angélique married Charles Gautreau (23 Feb 1789-????) from Miquelon, France. They had at least two children:

Victor (1818-????)

Maurice (1820-????)

Louise-Sophie Blanchard (~1786-18??)

Louise-Sophie married Firmin Gallant (1786-18??) from Cascumpec, reportedly on 15 Jan 1828. If so, it was likely a second marriage for one or both of them. Firmin apparently had a daughter, Barbe (1831-????), from a previous marriage to Lisette Arsenault. However, a different account has Sophie marrying Firmin about 1806, and having at least one child with him, born in Tignish, Prince Edward Island:

Mélème (~1810-????) — m. Domithilde Gaudet on 28 Feb 1835; m. Marie Procule Arsenault about 1862

Anne Blanchard (~1787-1871)

Anne has her own entry in the family tree.

Pierre Blanchard (~1787-????)

Pierre, aka “dit Counaise”, married Marguerite Doucet (~1788/1782-????) from Beaubassin, Acadie in 1805. Children:
